Terms & Authorization
Plain-language terms for using Cleared Results. Please read before creating an account.
1. What this service does
Cleared Results monitors search results for the names and search terms you give us, identifies pages you may want removed or pushed down, and prepares removal, opt-out, or takedown requests to the sites, data brokers, and platforms that host them. It also helps you publish accurate content of your own so it can outrank material that cannot be removed.
2. You authorize us to act as your agent
By accepting these terms you appoint Cleared Results as your authorized agent to prepare and, where you approve it, send removal and opt-out requests on your behalf to third parties, including requests under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Delete Act, and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Requests sent by us identify Cleared Results as your agent and direct replies to your email address. We never send anything pretending to be you personally.
3. What you confirm
- The names and search terms you submit are your own, or you are legally entitled to act for the person they refer to.
- Any web page you submit for removal is actually about you (or that person), and the information you give us about it is true.
- You will not use this service to remove truthful, lawful information about someone else, to file false legal claims, or to harass anyone.
4. Approval and automatic sending
Every request is shown to you in full before it goes out. You may send it yourself from your own email, submit it through the site's own form, or approve it for us to send. If you turn on automatic sending in your settings, we will send routine, non-legal requests (such as data-broker opt-outs) for pages you submitted yourself without asking each time. Requests with legal effect — copyright (DMCA), defamation, and formal privacy-law erasure demands — always require your explicit approval, and copyright notices require that you personally confirm you own the material.
5. Things we cannot and will not do
- We cannot log in to your accounts (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, email, etc.). Requests that must be submitted through those accounts, or through forms protected by CAPTCHA, are prepared for you but you submit them yourself.
- We do not guarantee any page will be removed or de-ranked. Third parties decide whether to act on a request, and some content (news reporting, public court records, content of public interest) is lawfully published and may not be removable.
- We do not file false or misleading claims, misrepresent what a page contains, or use deceptive tactics to influence search engines.
6. Your data
We store the names, search terms, URLs, and request history needed to run the service, and the email address used for your account. Search-result data for a given search term may be shared across accounts monitoring the identical term to avoid repeated searches; your account details, requests, and settings are never shared with other users. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.
7. Your responsibilities and ours
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit and for reviewing requests before approving them. We provide the service as-is and are not liable for a third party's decision to keep, remove, or alter content, or for consequences of inaccurate information you provide. These terms may be updated; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
