Privacy policy
Last updated October 1, 2026. This policy explains what Cleared Results collects, why, who receives it and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not skimmed: the service works by searching for your name and sending requests about you, so a lot of what it does with your information is the point of the product. The Terms & Authorization are the contract; this policy describes the data handling behind it.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Cleared Results is operated by Le Fraise Consulting, LLC, which is the controller of the personal information described here and runs the service at https://clearedresults.com. For anything about your data, write to requests@clearedresults.com from the email address on your account.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Account details: your email address and a password (we store only a hash of it). If you sign in with Google, the email address and basic profile of the Google account you choose.
- The person you monitor: the one legal name on the account, the state and country of residence (which decide which privacy laws and request routes apply), an optional short context phrase (a town, a job) that tells our searches which person you mean, and any nicknames, spellings or search phrases you add.
- Your authorization: the fixed authorization statement you sign with your name at sign-up, when you signed it and that you accepted the Terms. For a copyright (DMCA) notice, the record that you confirmed you own the material, with your name, email and the time.
- What you tell us about pages: the results you flag, your comments and edits to request drafts, and the details a request needs (for example what a page says about you).
- Profile links and background you choose to add: the pages you control (LinkedIn, a personal site), and a short bio, employer, education or roles used for the content plan.
- Connections you set up: if you connect Google Search Console, Blogger, WordPress or Ghost, the site address and the access token or credentials needed for that connection.
- Payment status: when paid plans are on, which plan you are on, your billing interval, and the identifiers Stripe gives us for your customer record and subscription. Card numbers go to Stripe directly; we never see or store them.
What the service generates about you
- Search results for your name and phrases: addresses, titles, snippets, where each one ranked and when, and how we sorted it (news, court record, forum, profile, people-search listing).
- The requests we draft, what you approved, where and when each one was sent, replies you tell us about, and the status we record.
- Screenshots of pages you flagged, taken when a request is filed and again when the page disappears or comes back, or a dated search record where a site blocks screenshots.
- Monthly reports, the weekly check of the profile pages you listed for personal details that are publicly visible, and, on paid plans, the answer an AI assistant gives to a neutral question about your name.
- Content drafts written for you, and where you published them.
- Ordinary server logs (address, browser, pages requested, time) kept for security and troubleshooting.
3. Why we use it
- To run the service you signed up for: searching for the name, sorting results, drafting and tracking requests, taking screenshots, writing reports, and sending requests as your authorized agent when you approve them. (Legal basis in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: performance of our contract with you.)
- To bill you and keep records of payments, consents and authorizations the law requires us to keep. (Contract and legal obligation.)
- To keep the service secure and to prevent misuse, for example someone monitoring a person they have no right to act for. (Legitimate interests.)
- To write to you about your account, your results and your requests. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
We do not sell personal information, do not share it for targeted advertising, and run no advertising or analytics trackers on the site.
4. Who receives it
The service cannot work without sending some of your information to other parties. This is the full list.
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Search providers (Google Custom Search, Serper.dev or Apify, whichever we have configured) | The name and search phrases on your account, as search queries | To fetch the results for your name |
| People-search sites with a public search | Your first and last name and, where the site asks for it, your state, entered into the site's own public search page | To look you up directly on each site's re-listing cycle |
| The sites, data brokers, platforms and search engines a request is sent to | The request text you approved, the page address, your name, and your email address as the reply address; where we send it, a line saying we act as your authorized agent | To ask for the removal, opt-out or correction you approved |
| Our own AI model, hosted on our private network | The page's address, title and snippet, your name, and the draft text | Sorting results, drafting requests, writing content. This is the normal path. |
| Commercial AI providers we have configured (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) | The same inputs as above, only when our own model is unavailable and a call falls back to them; and, on paid plans, one neutral question containing your name and your context phrase for the "what an AI assistant says" check | Fallback drafting; the AI-answer check |
| Stripe | Your email, plan and payment details (entered on Stripe's pages) | Payments, renewals, refunds and the billing portal |
| Resend (email delivery) | Your email address and the content of the messages we send you, and of requests we send on your behalf | Delivering email |
| Google (Search Console, Blogger, sign-in with Google) | Only what the connection you chose needs: your identity for sign-in; your Search Console properties and the pages you ask us to request indexing for; the blog you publish to | The connections you set up yourself |
| WordPress or Ghost sites you connect | The drafts you publish there | Publishing content you approved |
| Our hosting provider (IONOS, servers in the United States) | Everything, as the place the service runs | Hosting and backups |
We also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of a person, or if the business is sold or merged (in which case this policy continues to apply).
Search results for a search term may be shared across accounts monitoring the identical term, so a page is not searched for twice; your account details, requests, screenshots and settings are never shown to another user.
5. Cookies
The site sets one cookie: a signed session cookie that keeps you logged in. It is essential to the service, carries no tracking identifier, and is not shared with anyone. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, and the fonts and scripts the pages use are served from our own site, so loading a page sends nothing to a third party. Because we do not track visitors across sites, there is nothing for a browser's "Do Not Track" or opt-out-preference signal to switch off.
6. Where it is stored
The service runs on servers in the United States. If you live in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States when you use the service: you give it to us directly under your contract with us, and the providers in section 4 process it under their data-processing terms. Some of them process data in the United States or elsewhere. Write to us if you want details of the safeguards a particular provider relies on.
7. How long we keep it
- While your account is open: everything in section 2, because requests, rankings and screenshots only mean something as a history.
- When you delete your account: the button on your account page deletes the account, the person monitored, results, requests, screenshots, reports, drafts and connections immediately, and cancels any paid plan; if you ask by email instead, we do it within 30 days of a verified request. Copies may remain in our backups for a limited time until those backups are rotated. We keep a record that you asked for deletion (your email address and the date) so we can show we honoured it, and the payment records Stripe holds, for as long as the law requires.
- Search results for a name that another account also monitors stay with that account.
- Server logs are kept for a short period for security and then discarded.
8. Your rights
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you, in a portable form;
- Correct anything that is wrong;
- Delete your account and its data -- the "Delete my account" button on your account page does this immediately, no email needed;
- Stop a particular use, for example the AI-answer check or a connection you no longer want.
To do any of these, write to requests@clearedresults.com from the email address on your account; we may ask you to confirm it from that address or by logging in, so that nobody else can use your rights against you. We answer within 30 days. You can also appoint someone to ask on your behalf if they show us your written permission. We will never treat you differently for exercising a right.
If you live in California
The California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what we collect and how we use and disclose it, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of its use for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose other than providing the service. If we decline a request you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our answer.
If you live in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection described above, and the right to withdraw a consent you gave (which does not affect what was done before). You can also complain to your data protection authority; we would rather you wrote to us first so we can put things right. The legal bases we rely on are listed in section 3.
9. Security
Connections to the site use TLS, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, access to the servers is limited to the people who run the service, and the screenshots and reports about you are reachable only from your own account. No system can be made entirely secure; if something happens that affects your data we will tell you as the law requires.
10. Information about other people
Search results sometimes include pages about other people with the same name. We keep such a result only to let you mark it as "not me", and we never send a request about a page that you have not confirmed is about you. The Terms do not allow an account to be opened for a person you are not entitled to act for, and we close accounts used that way. The service is for adults: you must be 18 or older to open an account.
11. AI and automated decisions
AI models sort results and draft requests and content, as section 4 describes. They do not decide anything about you: which pages are acted on, and whether a request is sent, is always your decision (and, for privacy-law letters we send as your agent, a check by a person on our team). The "what an AI assistant says" check reports an assistant's answer to you and to no one else, and we cannot change what the assistant says.
12. Google user data
Where you sign in with Google or connect Search Console or Blogger, Cleared Results's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use that information only to provide the feature you connected, never for advertising, and we do not let people read it except with your consent or for security.
13. Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top and, for changes that matter to you, tell you by email or when you next log in. Questions: requests@clearedresults.com.
